(Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Michiya Kadota) is pleased to announce that it has received the “Distinction Award for Water Company of the Year" awarded by Global Water Intelligence as part of their annual Global Water Awards. This is the second time Kurita has received this award following its first recognition in 2017.
The Global Water Awards recognizes the most significant achievements in the water industry. Winning companies are selected by the subscribers of GWI Magazine and the Water Desalination Report. The award for ‘Water Company of the Year’ is the top prize, with two companies being recognized as winner or with distinction, for their remarkable performance or superior business/service in the fiscal year.
The awards ceremony was scheduled to be held at the Global Water Summit and hosted by GWI; however, the summit was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were announced online on October 8, 2020.
In 2019, the Kurita Group significantly strengthened their global presence following the purchase of water treatment chemical and equipment companies in the United States, along with an RO filters (Reverse Osmosis Membrane) water treatment chemical company in the UK
Additionally, Kurita’s strategic investment in an American venture that utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) to provide water-saving solutions, along with Kurita’s overall technical expertise demonstrated in the launching a of water recycling technology system for the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo" on the International Space Station, were cited as some of the accomplishments that were recognized in receiving the award.
